JAPANESE SHINTO PERIOD (1660’S) KATANA, HAS STANDARD STYLE HANDLE WITH BLACK TAPE WRAPPINGS BUT BLADE IS STORED IN A PLAIN NON MATCHING SIRA/SAYA WOOD SCABBARD, 23″ BLADE HAS BEEN SHORTENED YEARS AGO AND IS FAIRLY BRIGHT HAVING BEEN LIGHTLY POLISHED, BLADE HAS SEVERAL SMALL IMPERFECTIONS (KIZU) BUT STILL RATES AS VG/FINE, 2 PIECE BRASS HABAKI, 3 1/8 BLACK IRON TSUBA HAS BRASS/GOLD WIRE FLOWER DESIGNS WITH BOTH KOZUKA AND KOGAI HOLES, FUCHI AND KASHIRA ARE BLACKENED BRASS WITH HAMMERED FLOWER DESIGNS, MENUKI ARE BLACK CARVED DRAGONS?, DEEP BLACK TANG IS SIGNED ON ONE SIDE AND HAS ALSO BEEN SHORTENED ALONG WITH THE BLADE MANY YEARS AGO!
